I really don’t have a lot to write about this go-round. Maybe more did happen, but as of writing this blog, I am too tired to really think. So I guess we’ll just see where this thing goes.
There really was not much to say about the weekend after such a long, busy week before. Saturday we relaxed and did hardly a thing. Yvette wasn’t feeling so hot — maybe a summer cold — so we avoided all of her 30-year reunion shindigs. I felt bad for her, but honestly wasn’t really sure if she had wanted to attend or not. Being under the weather was certainly a legitimate excuse.
Sunday I did yard work, cutting down branches and that kind of fun shit. I worked on an assignment for my class that required some drawing. I think my summation might have been a little elaborate — I spent at least three hours on it — but oh well. It was fun and somewhat relaxing.
The week at work was busy as all hell. I guess purchase orders pushing through and the new fiscal year are to thank for that. I really didn’t have much time for this blog, as I often write day to day when I have downtime at work. I didn’t really spend any time in the office at all. Oh well, the week was behind me in a jiffy.
My morning water routine remains the same, except the sun is rising much later now. The Blue Jay consistently wake up and make a racket at seven on the dot. I really like the quiet time that waking up at six allows me. The neighborhood is not yet awake. It’s peaceful and gives me time to think.

Wednesday night we had the pleasure of having Alaya stay with us. Lola made us dinner and needed a date night with her boyfriend, so we had the pleasure of keeping her company. Sweet girl. Not seeing her every day is sad, and it’s really allowing me to see how much she is growing up. The little changes you miss when you see her all the time.
We had another morning meeting. It seemed like we had just had one, but it turns out a month had already basically passed us by. Lord, fucking time. Anyways, this meeting wasn’t the usual bullshit — a member of the fire department was there to give us some brief emergency training. He taught us the importance of hands-on CPR: call 911 first and begin the chest compressions. We were also shown how to use the AED machines that jump-start the heart.
Overall, it was pretty useful stuff, and the presentation was excellent.
I started my Horror Nights this week. The yearly horror movie marathon I begin in September leading up to Halloween, where I try and watch as many scary movies as I can. It’s been a good start with four down, and I’ve already been surprised by one suggestion from a friend that I had never even heard of. So far I have watched The Invitation, Incident in a Ghostland, The Empty Man, and The Descent. All good films, and I’m excited to be doing this once again. I’m sure Yvette is thrilled.
Friday it seemed Lola and Alaya were staying the night. I don’t know what the hell that is about. Lola has not stayed at the house in well over a month — heck, she doesn’t even have a bed. Who fucking knows. I think her boyfriend was going out with friends. Hopefully they are not having problems. We got to see Alaya, though, so it was a win for us.
I hope that you enjoyed my shortest blog in months. I was ready for the week to be over, and thankfully, it finally was.
Happy Friday!!
